Current opportunity

This is a opportunity to do service in the community transporting disabled people. Own car not necessary. Examples of trips are PRI, shopping trips and medical appointments. The opportunity runs 7 days a week and volunteers can help out any day/s they like. Perth Access Cars is a long established service that is dedicated to providing transport to wheelchair users* and other people with limited mobility, helping clients to attend medical appointments, community resources and social events using our fleet of specially adapted vans based vehicles, and a minibus that transports larger number of clients. If you are willing to devote as little as a few hours per week, you enjoy driving and find meeting and helping people rewarding, you would be a great addition to our team of drivers. • To drive any of our converted vans you only require a valid car licence • For our minibus you must be a MiDAS trained driver • Sadly our driver insurance cover only allows for applicants up to the age of seventy years old • Helping wheelchair using clients to safely access and exit our vehicles via a shallow ramp will require a reasonable level of fitness The offices can be hard to find so volunteers can call Accesscars office when they arrive at PRI / Taymount Terrace.
