PUSH

PUSH is a charitable organisation which promotes person centred planning as we work for inclusion for people with learning disabilities. We are a small, dedicated & friendly team of staff & volunteers who work hard to help people with learning difficulties, their families, carers & support staff.

Current opportunities

Based at our warehouse and working as part of a team we would like you to use your skills to minimise our waste. This could range from basic maintenance of furniture to recreating something new from old. While we understand that sometimes working on your own might be a preferred activity it would be great if you could also share your skill with our employees, trainees or volunteers. We usually organise PAT testing training once a year – so if you have access to an ITA account there is an opportunity to learn and practice the skills gained. In addition to this, we also have access to a variety of other free training opportunities such as First Aid and customer service.

Working as part of a team, we will ask you to drive the van to collect and deliver furniture to customers who utilise the PUSH service. We may also ask you to help to collect items from a shipping container that we service on the Friarton site, sort through donations and breakdown furniture into recyclable components and recycle metal. If this is not enough we may also ask you to help catalogue the furniture by photographing the items and writing details on a prepared sheet. Lastly, it is important that our products work so in the past the staff have tested pogo sticks, remote control vehicles and bikes.
