PUSH is a charitable organisation which promotes person centred planning as we work for inclusion for people with learning disabilities. We are a small, dedicated & friendly team of staff & volunteers who work hard to help people with learning difficulties, their families, carers & support staff.
We require help to run a charity shop, completing a variety of retail related tasks as mentioned above. Training will be provided. You will be working alongside people with mild to moderate learning disabilities.
As a fundraiser we would like you to help locate trusts and organisations that maybe able to help fund our projects. You would not be responsible for writing them however, if you had experience or were willing to learn then this could be discussed. We would also like the fundraiser to take responsibility of organising local events as a way of raising money so that we can continue with the work that we do. If only one aspect of this role appealed to you then we would welcome your input.
Due to the nature of this role the hours would be flexible, to suit your needs.
We have a charity shop and through this receive items that would fetch a more marketable price on line. Currently we don't have the time to undertake the setting up of the shop front, photographing the items, maintaining, updating and answering questions on the products. We would therefore like someone who can share their knowledge, skills and expertise in E-bay.
Being a support worker is valuable, 96% of the work done at PUSH works because of volunteers. We provide a service to adults with learning disabilities and you could help them work on social skills or build their confidence and self belief or understand their financial responsibilities or reminisce to build a memory book or create challenges and see them through or support them on a day out or promote their service skills at the drop-in.
We also need volunteers in the office to help with administrative tasks and to search for funding opportunities!
