Scottish Wildlife Trust (Perth & Kinross)

Charity registered in Scotland SC005792

The Scottish Wildlife Trust has nearly 40,000 members and is the largest environmental non-governmental organisation in Scotland working on all aspects of wildlife conservation. The objective of the Trust is "to advance the conservation of Scotland's biodiversity for the benefit of present and future generations". We believe that through encouraging access to wildlife, we can involve people in understanding, conserving and shaping our environment for the better.
In addition to working to conserve wildlife on our network of 120 reserves we work in partnership with others to protect and enhance wildlife throughout Scotland: this is primarily achieved through policy, practical conservation work, advocacy and campaigns.

Current opportunities

We are looking for volunteers to help our paid and unpaid Species Protection staff/volunteers and the Perthshire Ranger provides a 24/7 watch on our nesting ospreys, should they return as hoped. We are looking for as many volunteers as possible to fill gaps in our monitoring rota and to provide a reserve pool in case gaps occur. What we are looking for: - flexibility, proximity and means to travel to Dunkeld - availability during the osprey season and willingness to work unsociable hours - confidence in talking to the public What you will get in return: - get involved with the success of an iconic species

We are looking for 2 residential volunteers to assist at our Osprey Protection Programme at Loch of the Lowes supported by players of People's Postcode Lottery. This is a great opportunity to join the team at this busy wildlife reserve at a very exciting time of the year. You will be given the chance to learn all about our ospreys and other wildlife with opportunities to develop new skills and experience, whilst giving valuable support to the Scottish Wildlife Trust. What we're looking for: - ability to live and work with others with limited personal space - flexibility, reliability and availability - commitment to the full duration of the volunteer role
