The youth clubs run on a Monday, 7pm-9pm for children 12+, a Tuesday, 6.30pm-8pm for children 5-12 years old and a Thursday at Gleneagles Day Opportunities. These clubs are great fun for both the children and volunteers. We encourage volunteers to take part in all the activities and their enthusiasm and attitude impacts greatly on our children and young people. Planned activities take place each week at youth club such as baking, sports and games. We also have regular movie and pamper nights for our older children and lots of sensory and messy play for our younger children. The activities vary depending upon the time of year and any current events or celebrations. We encourage the volunteers to share their ideas and skills with us and are delighted for you to have input into the planning and running of activities. We value your talents and skills and will happily put them to good use! We are always thrilled to take on new volunteers and you will receive a vast range of training to support you in your role. Becoming a committee member for SHIP and Splash is a great opportunity to give something back to your local community knowing that you are helping a large number of children and families with additional support needs. We are looking for committee member to undertake a variety of tasks including fundraising applications, supporting with administrative tasks and most importantly bringing their skills and knowledge to the charity. Ideally, we would like people with experience of committee work to join us, however; we are happy to take on committee members with little or no previous commitee experience provided that you are enthusiastic and have time to give. We are looking to benefit from the wider expertise which exists in the voluntary sector. We are seeking to expand and develop our service to better meet the needs of a growing client group; we want services to be better for our young people and their families. This could prove to be a good opportunity for someone with skills and experience in management, finance or the public sector to make a real difference in the local community, and at the same time, demonstrate their abilities to potential employers.
