DDWA is comitted to providing support, Advocacy and where available temporary accomodation to women, children and young people who are or have been victims of domestic abuse. We aim to support women to make their own decisions and work towards providing women's and childrens rights


Current opportunities

An opportunity to join the Management Committee of Dumbarton District Women's Aid. Our Organisation supports women, children & young people who are/ or have experienced domestic abuse, we are looking for people who will be interested in supporting the organisation to develop its strategy, plan and review policies and procedures. Interested parties will participate in an induction programme which will introduce the organisation and its aims and objectives.

No matter how good our services are, we can't properly support our community well if we don't have good Support people in the team. If this sounds like you?... we would love you to consider volunteering with us for a few hours per week. Dumbarton District Women’s Aid (DDWA) is a confidential organisation which provides information, support and, where appropriate, refuge for women and any accompanying children who are at risk. We are looking for someone who is interested in gardening and is keen to put their gardening skills to great use, a knowledge of growing plants, grass cutting, weeding, tidying and care of tools is essential, due to the role a reasonable level of fitness and good communication skills required. We would like someone who is happy to pass on their knowledge to the children that use our service, supporting them to learn all about growing and encouraging them to nurture their plant and learn about growing under their parent's supervision.

DDWA are looking for committed Management Committee members, to join the group, on an unpaid basis. We would particularly be interested to hear from people with skills in Accountancy/Financial management, Fundraising, Legal/ Training, Strategic Development, Employment/Personnel background, Previous Project Management/Board experience. We would like to hear from people with lived experience of Domestic Abuse or have used or worked within Women's Aid/Rape Crisis etc services.

Dumbarton District Women’s Aid (DDWA) is a confidential organisation which provides information, support and, where appropriate, refuge for women and any accompanying children who are at risk. We are looking for someone who is skilled in the use of social media, such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, and would be responsible for the establishment or maintaining active social media accounts, researching and creating creative content for the different social media channels, identifying opportunities to establish relationships with other community groups, developing other potential social media channels and keeping up to date with what is going on locally. You will be expected to create posts for social media and once they have been approved for use by staff post them on DDWA social media platforms. The role is home based and it is expected that people can use their own equipment to post content.
