Active Schools Falkirk Community Trust

Charity registered in Scotland SC042403

The aim of Active Schools is to offer all children and young people the opportunities and motivation to adopt active, healthy lifestyles, now and into adulthood. This is done by recruiting, supporting and sustaining a network of volunteers, coaches, leaders and teachers who in turn deliver physical activity and sport before, during and after school and in the wider community.

Current opportunities

Supporting activities for primary school children in sport at lunchtime and after school clubs. Volunteers get involved by taking a register, assisting the coaches with delivering the activities or leading the activity sessions (optional). Being part of this initiative helps give young children the chance to participate in various sport/recreation activities whilst encouraging a healthier lifestyle and social interaction with their peers. There are many benefits to be gained from this volunteering opportunity, such as gaining relevant qualifications and work experience, meeting future contacts, learning new organisational and coaching skills.

The Active Schools Team works with primary and secondary aged children. Throughout the year we run a number of events such as Netball Festivals,Cross Countries, Dance Events, P6 Athletics and P7 Big School Games . To help ensure the smooth running of these events we require volunteers to carry out a number of roles, from supervising children to marshalling events and even admin tasks. We will provide the necessary training and will utilise skills that volunteers already have.
