Real Life Options (Falkirk)

Charity registered in Scotland SC045939

Real Life Options was first established in 1992 to support and empower people with learning disabilities and autism to have more choice and greater control over their lives. Over the last three decades, we have grown to become a national provider of social support and care while staying true to our core ethos.

We support people across the UK to develop their independence and achieve their potential. We recognise that to be excellent in our field, we need to truly understand and champion the changing needs and aspirations of the people we support. Through partnerships with families, thought-leader organisations and professional services, we believe in constantly evolving and providing a person-centred approach at every step in an individual’s support journey.

Current opportunity

The volunteer role will vary, depending on your skills and abilities. Volunteers will work the volunteer coordinator and the service manager to create a volunteer plan which will be tailored around the interests of the volunteer and the interests of the service users - we like to match volunteers to people with similar interests and provide opportunities for volunteers to use their existing skills and knowledge. Volunteer tasks could include: chatting to and befriending people we support; help with everyday practical tasks; providing information and support to allow people to make informed choices about their lives; support with social outings; assisting with pet care; assisting with food preparation - this is not an exhaustive list, we cater to the needs and interests of both volunteers and service users to provide an enjoyable and meaningful experience for both. In return for your time we will provide training, a support network and all expenses incurred will be reimbursed. Not only this, but you will be imbedded into the culture with Real Life Options and have access to our staff benefits. The volunteer role will complement the work of staff, and volunteers will never replace the work of Real Life Options staff.
