Shelter Scotland help individuals struggling with bad housing or homelessness by providing support, advice, information and advocacy to people in housing need.. They exist to defend the right to a safe home and fight the devastating impact the housing emergency has on people and society. They do this with campaigns, advice and support – and we never give up. They believe that home is everything.


Current opportunities

We require cash desk volunteers to help out within the Shelter Scotland shop by providing help with the following roles: Completing till transactions accurately and effectively; Completing delivery dockets and delivery slots; Accepting customer donations; Promoting the benefits of the Gift Aid Scheme

We require volunteer Shop Floor Assistants to help out within the Shelter Scotland shop by providing help with the following roles: Ensuring that stock that comes onto the shop floor is clean and attractively displayed; Making sure the stock on the shop floor is correctly labelled; Helping to maintain department standards and shop floor layout; Helping to move stock about the shop floor; Helping with light cleaning duties, the occasional run round with a hoover etc.

We require volunteer assistants to help out at our Shelter Scotland shop by providing practical support - the role involves being the face of Shelter Scotland when collecting donations, dismantling beds, tables, etc. for easier transport and storage; lifting heavy furniture through sometimes awkward spaces and angles, removing and replacing furniture on the shop floor and helping to prepare route plans for the day ahead in the most cost effective way.

We require sort room volunteers to help within the Shelter Scotland shop by providing help with the following roles: Helping to sort, tag and steam garments and ready them for the shop floor; Keeping the sort room tidy and organised; Identify valuable items, high brand.
