The role of Volunteers within our community was vitally important. It is recognised that support is required for a number of vulnerable and elderly people so Community Support organisations are available to provide support to those who need it most. Opportunities exist to help with administration, coordinating volunteers, shopping, driving to medical appointments, light gardening, check-in calls and collecting prescriptions for those who struggle to go out and about. G64 Community support is a community wide partnership providing support to vulnerable residents. Our organisation is supported by local community organisations, East Dunbartonshire Voluntary Action, and OPAL East Dunbartonshire information Helpline operating in the Bishopbriggs, Auchinairn and Torrance area. We are looking for a secretary to deal with any correspondence, take minutes of any meetings and liaise directly with our chair to ensure the smooth running of the group. This will includes sending invitations and settings up virtual meetings, and supporting the other trustees to run the group efficiently.
