As a Receptionist with CAB you will be the first point of contact for clients and others getting in touch with the bureau. Currently this is done mainly over the phone with occasional visitors to the door. You will take details from the callers about who they are and why they are making contact with the bureau. You will also do general administrative tasks within the office.
As a General Adviser you will have an interesting, varied and rewarding role giving advice on a range of topics including benefits, housing, debt, family issues and employment. You will interview clients, either over the phone or face to face, gathering information about their circumstance and establishing the issue(s) that need addressed. You will research the topic, to identify options and solutions, which you will explain to the clients so that they can make an informed decision. You will offer practical help such as calculating benefits, completing forms and contacting other agencies on their behalf. You will record each contact with the client on the CAB database.
