At Space and Broomhouse Hub, we aim to be an anchor organisation. Our mission is to create opportunities that make a positive difference to the lives of our community, people in Broomhouse, Sighthill & Parkhead, and SW Edinburgh, to enable them to flourish, thrive and achieve their highest potential. Our vision is to enable the amazing people, young and old, who engage with our work to flourish through a sense of community and enriching experiences.

Current opportunities

Space at Youth Befriending provides one-to-one befriending for children and young people aged 5-16 though supporting them to learn new skills and provide a social experience for children and young people who are experiencing difficulties in their lives due to parental drug and alcohol use. Through the befriending relationship the child / young person and the befriender may touch on topics such as increasing self-esteem; dealing with worries; respect for others.

To attend the Beacon Club 10am – 2.30pm on one of the following days Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday To help with: Assisting staff to set up the day’s activities and tidying up afterwards. Escorting the members on and off the minibus safely and while they are mobilising elsewhere should they require this. Laying tables and serving meals, observing club hygiene procedures. Helping the members get the best out of a range of planned activities and outings.
