Cruse Bereavement Care Scotland

Charity registered in Scotland SC031600

Cruse Bereavement Care Scotland exists to promote the well-being of bereaved people in Scotland. We seek to help anyone experiencing bereavement to understand their grief and cope with their loss. We work primarily through volunteers, providing free care to bereaved people. We also train and educate individuals and organisations who may in turn be able to contribute to the well-being of bereaved people.

Current opportunities

Like so many support organisations, we are seeing an increasing demand of our services, and we are looking for qualified counsellors to join our therapeutic team. This is a unique opportunity to provide specialist intervention to support people to gain an insight and understanding into their grief. We work within a time limited model of support and ask that all volunteers work with a minimum of two clients at any given time

We are recruiting volunteer supporters for our C&YP services across Scotland. The course is open to those who have experience of working with CYP, and/or interest in furthering skills in working with bereaved children and young people. The overall aim of this course is to provide trainees with a supportive context in which they can develop those theoretical, conceptual, and practical skills and insights, which will enable them to become highly competent supporters of bereaved children and young people and their families/carers. This course is NOT accredited by an external body.
