Scottish War Blinded supports service veterans with vision impairment to maintain and increase their independence and improve their quality of life.


Current opportunities

Creative? Love arts and crafts? Find it easy to share what you know with others? Always up for a friendly chat? If so, you could well be perfect for our arts and crafts volunteer role, helping our members develop their skills and creativity in our fully equipped, purpose-build art room. We are looking for a volunteer who can support members with their tasks and projects, so your hands-on skills will be key (ideally your many talents will include sewing). Equally, you should someone who can to strike up a friendly conversation with our members and support interaction between them. As a volunteer, you will meet inspiring people, gain valuable experiences, and help us to change the lives of those who have served their country.

If you enjoy helping others and have a love for woodworking, we have the perfect role for you. By donating your time, knowledge and talent you’ll help our members develop their skills and creativity in our fully equipped, purpose-build workshop. This is a rewarding volunteer role for the right person; you will support members with their tasks and projects, so your technical knowledge and experience will be key. Also important will be your interpersonal skills, as we’re looking for someone who can engage our members in conversation and support interaction between them. As a volunteer, you will meet inspiring people, gain valuable experiences, and help us to change the lives of those who have served their country.

We need green fingered volunteers with to work their magic at the Linburn Centre! By donating your time, knowledge and skills you’ll help maintain and develop our stunning gardens where our veterans can enjoy tranquillity, natural beauty and abundant sensory stimulation. This rewarding role will involve plenty of hands-on gardening, redevelopment and ground preparation. Moreover, we want you to have your say; you’ll be included in garden design and layout, and the planning of plants and shrubs. As a volunteer, you will meet inspiring people, gain valuable experiences, and help us to change the lives of those who have served their country.
