Pet Fostering Service Scotland (East Renfrewshire)

Charity registered in Scotland SC015672

PFSS provides a unique service, supporting pet owners who are facing ill health, temporary homelessness or domestic abuse. Our volunteer foster carers give a pet a temporary “home from home”, taking responsibility for their care, feeding and exercise, freeing the owner from worry at a difficult time.

Current opportunities

Our Home Visitors play a vital role in delivery of our service by visiting potential volunteer pet foster carers to assess their house, home situation and the fosterer. Main tasks: - Contact potential fosterer and arrange a time for the home visit to take place. - Carry out the home visit following the guidelines provided by PFSS. - Complete the home visit report and return a copy to the Home Visit Coordinator.

Our pet foster carers provide a full time caring home for pets who have been temporarily separated from their owners while they are unable to care for them. You will be fully responsible for the animal in your care and their daily needs including feeding, cleaning, grooming, exercising and socialising. - Foster cats must be kept indoors at all times. - Foster dogs should not be left alone for longer than 5 hours.
