Quarriers Renfrewshire Head Injury service provides support to 17- 64year-olds living in the Renfrewshire area who have experienced an acquired brain injury.
The service is community based and provides brain injury awareness and strategies to help the person on a day to day basis and set realistic outcomes.
We are looking for a number of Volunteer Befrienders to support people in the community to enjoy activities and achieve goals in the persons care plan.
Examples of what the people would like to do/achieve include:
• Helping client to route plan to access the community, helping clients overcome the confusion of public transport and how to get to places on time
• To access community groups – travel and an introduction to the group assisting the person to make friends and build relationships reducing isolation.
• To enjoy leisure pursuits such as the gym/swimming
• Assisting with attending learning courses such as college overcoming fears and anxieties.
