Blind Veterans UK

Blind Veterans UK offer lifelong support to Armed Forces and National Service veterans - no matter what the cause of their sight loss, and regardless of how long they served. We help blind and vision impaired ex-Service personnel regain their independence and discover a life beyond sight loss.

Current opportunities

The role is to develop a Befriending relationship for an older visually impaired male needing some companionship. We are looking for a friendly person with a couple of hours to spare on a week day, once a week or fortnight. This is a challenging role which would suit a champion, an empathetic experienced volunteer who enjoys conversation and reminiscence. This veteran is in the early stages of dementia. This role is providing some friendly social contact and not a Care role.
