Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland

Charity registered in Scotland SC018761

We are Scotland’s health charity supporting people and their families across Scotland with chest, heart and stroke conditions. We want to make sure life living with a chest or heart condition or after a stroke is a life lived to the full. We will fight for better health for everyone and work to make sure there is help and support in every community.

After a diagnosis of a chest or heart condition or a stroke, many people experience fear and isolation and struggle with the impact on their lives. Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland won’t stand for that. The care and support we deliver every day ensures everyone can live the life they want to. Across Scotland, over 1 million people – that’s one in five of the population – are living with the effects of serious chest and heart conditions and stroke. By 2021 we will double the number of people we support so that more people can live life to the full. We will do this by providing vital advice, information, and support through our No Life Half Lived Support services across Scotland. These services include our Advice Line, Stroke Nurse Service, Rehabilitation Support Service, Health Information, Health Defence, Education and E-learning, Financial Advice & Support and our Peer Support Groups.

Current opportunities

Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland are looking for volunteer drivers who can help support their charity shops by collecting donated stock and delivering stock to their local Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland store. Volunteers’ level of involvement is arranged to suit both parties as they require weekly drivers, regular rota drivers and relief drivers who may be called upon to cover any unavailability by their regular team. Volunteers must have their own transport and have held their driving licence for a minimum of 3 years.

Utilising your creativity and imagination you can assist with creating window and in-store displays, selecting stock and turning it into something eye catching and tempting for their customers.

Based in the stockroom you will assist with sorting and organising donated stock and getting it ready for the shop floor.

ou will be on the main shop floor, welcoming and assisting our customers and ensuring stock is regularly replenished. This is the perfect opportunity for a people person or a fashion fanatic.
