Current opportunities
Angus Cycle Hub encourage people to live healthier lives and reduce car journeys and CO2 emissions through cycling and recycling.
We run two community based projects based in Arbroath and Dundee, Scotland.
We are committed to our community and want them involved in everything we do at Cycle Hub which is why we love volunteers! We have a variety of roles of varying lengths of commitment time. Whatever your background, identity or ability, there’s a volunteer spot with your name on it.
We have a list of volunteer roles you can choose from, but we are ultimately flexible around you and your available time commitment, experience, interests and goals. We want to make sure we find something that fits you best and offers opportunity for growth, development and progression with us. In the past, our volunteers have supported us at our events, in our shops and workshops, and with our Bikeability program in schools.
This is an extremely important role within the organization and carries a lot of responsibility. As an events volunteer, you will be given endless opportunities to develop your skills by working alongside us. It’s also a great way to take a front-line approach to getting involved with the Cycle Hub and share our passion for bikes with others.
You will have the opportunity to work alongside our team during the live delivery of our events e.g. Dr Bike, Maintenance Session Classes, Smoothie Bike rental, Pump Track, Crazy Bikes rental. We also run Clubs, Camps and Bike Maintenance in schools.
Options include:
- Marshalling/Hands on at the likes of Dr Bike, Maintenance Sessions, Smoothie Bike, Pump Track, Crazy Bikes, Trail Leading, Recycles Future Projects (Clubs, Camps and Bike Maintenance in schools)
- Logistics Help
With most of our Volunteer Opportunities there is opportunity to develop the experience further should you wish. We provide training to help you do this.

Our dedicated team of Volunteer Workshop Mechanics collect bikes left at Recycling Centres in Angus and bring them back to our HQ in Arbroath to upcycle and fix so they can be delivered to children in need throughout Angus and Dundee. This is an excellent role for anyone who wishes to be involved in a hands on role and is by far the most popular of our volunteer roles at the Cycle Hub. You will be supported by our Velotech trained mechanics and be granted an unlimited opportunity to learn about bikes or hone your already existing skills.
You will be supported by our head Recycles mechanic, Jason, and an assigned mentor at our Arbroath basewhere you can work towards various individually set goals.
Once you have completed our Recycles Volunteer Project you will have the opportunity to gain a SQA certified qualification/Velotech qualification. You can either do this within the Recycles Project or branch out and get involved elsewhere, for instance: shop servicing, Dr Bike events and our Maintenance Sessions.

If retail is your area of interest, then jump on board as a retail volunteer where you will get first-hand training on our shop floor. This experience will guide you into sales from a third-sector perspective in a warm and friendly, community focused environment.
You will work alongside our Shop Manager in all areas of the shop.
