Sported is a leading Sport for Change charity, helping to transform the lives of disadvantaged young people across the UK. We’re a membership organisation, working with over 3000 amazing community groups and organisations that are using the power of sport to tackle the root causes of some of society’s biggest problems, and giving disadvantaged young people the opportunities to succeed in life. We support the inspirational local heroes and heroines that run these clubs by providing free business and financial support so that they have the skills, knowledge and resources to continue their amazing work. We have a network of volunteer business mentors who work with our members on a one-to-one basis, providing expert consultancy on a range of business issues.
Our volunteers are carefully matched with Sported member clubs within their locality, who they then support on a one-to-one basis to help them to attract investment into their organisation.
Sported supports groups who are utilising sport to bring about real social difference throughout the UK so volunteers will be paired with a group that are doing really inspiring work. These groups are doing incredible work but require some guidance around fundraising in order to make them more sustainable and increase their capacity.
If you have over 5 years experience in a range of fundraising, then Sported would love to hear from you. This is a great opportunity to make a lasting impact on a community group in your area. If you enjoy working with people and have a desire to make a difference then please get in touch.
Our volunteer business mentors are paired with community sports clubs who need expertise in a particular area to become more sustainable and increase their capacity. Sported works closely to support our volunteers throughout the process, and the opportunities available are very flexible - from answering a 15 minute call from a club leader who has questions in your skill area, to delivering a workshop or a 6 month mentor placement.
As a Sported volunteer, you will have the opportunity to share your professional skills and expertise with community groups, having a huge effect on the sustainability and capacity of these clubs. Full induction is offered, as well as personal development opportunities, and you will join a network of skilled Sported volunteers across the UK. You will volunteer with a diverse range of people and organisations, and will receive support throughout from the Sported Volunteer Services team.
Most importantly you will have fun!
Sported is seeking professionals with expertise in business and strategic planning, finance and PR, fundraising, governance and impact measurement to support their community sport and youth groups. Through the power of sport their members are transforming the lives of the most disadvantaged young people in the UK. Volunteer with Sported, meet the inspirational heroes of grassroots sport and leave a lasting legacy in your community! They have two types of volunteering roles:

2. Light Touch Support - Volunteers provide short-term, flexible support to Sported members with specific questions/challenges. The support can be one-off advice or 1-3 sessions, delivered via your chosen communication method. This is perfect for volunteers who may not have time to commit to an extended mentor placement.
