Current opportunities

We are looking for support from someone who has experience in accessing and applying for funding and grants, who can help our charity group. We are a mental health charity and are growing at a fast pace. We have a great committee team on board but most members are tied up with face to face work with community members We require someone with experience of accessing and applying for funding on our behalf, who can continue to access opportunities. This will include attending meetings where required, and networking with local services/organisations who may be a good funding provider for our charity. There will be an expectation that you link with the chair/vice chair regarding applications and attend any committee meetings relevant. We currently run on a Monday and Thursday evening, however this role will be flexible depending on individual availability.

We are looking for volunteers to come on board in our mental health charity. We are a small charity with a huge heart and are growing fast. We offer free counselling sessions to individuals experiencing mental health issues and require more volunteers to meet our growing demand. We are a very friendly and professional drop in hub and education service, and are keen to expand further, requiring more volunteers to provide a supportive and advice service to the community members accessing our hub. Our volunteers can have any level of mental health awareness and can cover many aspects of hub. We require volunteers to answer door and show people into hub. Make people feel welcome and offer them a soft or hot drink upon arrival. Speak to people on a 1:1 basis to explore what their needs are and where best to support them. Facilitate support groups and education session where appropriate. Candidates with some mental health training would be beneficial, but not essential. Preferably looking for male volunteers to accommodate our men’s only group on Thursday evenings, although our general hub night on a Monday has volunteer opportunities to.

We have opportunities for counsellors to come on board and work with individuals experiencing mental health difficulties. We are open to all age groups and experience of youth counselling would be advantageous, but not a necessity. Our hub is open on a Monday evening 6.30-9pm and we also have a men’s only fitness and wellbeing group on a Thursday evening 7.30-10pm. We are hoping to expand further with our own premises and would appreciate any additional counselling help available on either days. We are happy to support and cover any supervision costs required for carrying out this role.
