We are seeking enthusiastic and empathetic volunteers to join our team as Conversation Club Facilitators. This vital role involves leading and managing conversational practice sessions for adults who are not native speakers of the language. Our Conversation Club aims to provide a friendly and supportive environment where learners can practice and improve their conversational skills, gain confidence in their speaking abilities, and connect with others on a similar journey. Volunteering Role tasks: • Support the Conversation Club Coordinator to facilitate weekly conversation sessions that are engaging, inclusive, and respectful of all participants' diverse backgrounds and language levels. • Create a safe and welcoming environment where participants feel comfortable practising their language skills, making mistakes, and asking questions. • Support the Conversation Club Coordinator with activities that encourage active participation and conversation among club members. This may include topics of discussion, games, role-plays, or storytelling exercises. • Monitor the progress and participation of attendees, offering constructive feedback and encouragement to support their language development. • Liaise with the Conversation Club coordinator to provide updates on club sessions, including any challenges faced and suggestions for improvement. • Attend volunteer training sessions and meetings as required, to enhance your facilitation skills and stay informed about best practices in language learning and community engagement. If yes, then we have the perfect cape for you to don! We're on the lookout for enthusiastic IT Drop-In Facilitators to join our league of extraordinary volunteers. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, involves guiding our community members through the maze of modern technology, ensuring they emerge confident and empowered users of their digital devices. As an IT Drop-In Facilitator, you'll be the frontline hero in our community tech space, offering one-on-one support, troubleshooting pesky PC problems, demystifying smartphones, and illuminating the internet's infinite possibilities. Whether it's setting up email accounts, understanding social media, or conquering cloud storage, your expertise will turn digital dilemmas into delightful discoveries. The volunteering role tasks: -Provide warm, friendly, and patient tech support to community members of all ages and abilities. -Lead informal, fun workshops on basic IT skills - think "Internet 101" or "How to Not Accidentally Call Your Boss on Facebook Messenger." -Create a welcoming environment where questions are encouraged, and learning is fun. -Stay up-to-date with the latest gadgets, gizmos, and updates in the tech world (a great excuse to play with all the new toys!). Our key objectives are to: The Volunteer Community Connector serves as a vital link between the community center and the wider community, focusing on promoting various events, classes, and activities aimed at enhancing community engagement, learning, and well-being. This role is pivotal in ensuring that community members are informed, involved, and inspired to participate in the plethora of opportunities available at the community center. Key Responsibilities: Actively promote community events, classes, and activities through various channels such as social media, community bulletin boards, and local partnerships. Engage with community members to raise awareness about the programs offered by the community center, tailoring communication strategies to reach diverse groups. Collect feedback from community members about their interests and suggestions for future programming to continuously adapt and improve the community center's offerings. Assist in organizing and facilitating community events, including setup and breakdown, registration, and providing information to attendees. Serve as an ambassador of the community center, embodying its values and mission in every interaction with community members and stakeholders. The role requires a flexibility to volunteer varied hours, including some weekends and evenings, according to event schedules.
