THE ORGANISATION The objectives of Self-Directed Support Network South Lanarkshire are: To promote better outcomes for individuals; To provide a strong, credible voice for members and their families which is listened to; To provide accessible jargon-free information; To provide support and training; To provide a supportive environment that ensures and promotes equality; To raise issues and identify areas of best practice and encourage benchmarking against this best practice. The successful applicant will play a pivotal role in delivering our objectives and growing the organisation. A working knowledge of Self-Directed Support is needed for this role, additional training will be provided as and when required. Good communication skills are required as they will often be the first point of contact of the organisation. JOB SUMMARY Working knowledge of Self-Directed Support To provide professional, efficient, and effective administrative support to Self-Directed Support Network South Lanarkshire, ensuring efficient and effective running of the charity office and daily business. To support the charity team in the management and administration of its fundraising, finance functions. Communication and people skills: Often being the first point of contact. Administrator will need to possess excellent communication skills. The image of the organisation and its services relies heavily on the ability of the Charity Administrator To communicate effectively and sympathetically with a wide variety of people including staff and supporters. Time management skills: The Charity Administrator will need to possess excellent time management and organisational skills to be able to deal with a wide range of tasks and prioritise as appropriate. Information Technology skills: The Charity Administrator will need strong IT skills and be competent in the use of most Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word and Excel. A working knowledge of PowerPoint and Publisher would also be helpful. Problem-solving skills: The Charity Administrator will need to be practical, proactive, calm under pressure and able to use their initiative. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Duties and responsibilities to the Administrator Liaise with the Management Committee regarding the events of the day and future activities and follow up resultant actions. Manage enquiries from members and external organisations who are seeking advice & support about Self-Directed Support Liaise with external organisations to arrange events and other activities. - Set up meetings, book meetings. Arranging Committee meetings - Taking minutes/notes of committee meetings and following up action points to ensure they are completed. Be responsible for the smooth running of the Network. Maintaining membership list to ensure all details are accurate & up to date and comply with Data Protection Draft, type, and dispatch charity office correspondence as requested. NOTE: The hours and working days are negotiable, though Committee meetings are on a Tuesday every 4-6 weeks
