Cats Protection

We are here to help people see the world through cats’ eyes
Since 1927 we have helped cats across the UK and helped people to better understand their needs. As a community of volunteers, employees, supporters and partners, we’ve improved the lives of millions of cats and transformed the way millions of people see and care for cats.

Our vision is a society where every cat has their best possible life because they are protected, cared for and understood by everyone.

This is not an easy thing to achieve, but that’s the point. It’s challenging and ambitious. But by moving towards it we’ll continually make the world better for cats and people.

We also have a clear definition of what we all do in Cats Protection – the mission we are on to deliver our vision.

We are a movement of people championing the welfare of cats. We lead society in a richer understanding of all cats and care for those that need our help.

This can be summed up by our purpose. If we can help everyone to better understand cats and their needs, we can help them to behave differently towards them, to care for them in the best way and to ensure the world appreciates and protects cats. That is why our purpose is:

To help people see the world through cats’ eyes

Current opportunities

As a charity we help thousands of cats each year thanks to the generous donations we receive. Our Fundraising Event Helpers have the exciting and varied role of helping at local fundraising events - such as bake sales, dances, quiz nights – and everything in between! Alongside the event itself, you will also be promoting and marketing your events and activities to ensure it is a success! This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to gain experience in events, marketing and promotions. This role is really flexible! You could choose to volunteer at one event for a couple of hours or attend multiple fundraising events. Key Responsibilities: ● Help set up and/or man stalls at events ● Help on collection days like supermarket collections events or street collections ● Help at fundraising events such as Quiz nights, cake sales and dances ● Help promote and market events and activities. ● Promote a professional image of Cats Protection at events. We’ll keep you up to date with upcoming local events where volunteers are needed. You’ll then be able to choose which events you’d like to volunteer at and how many hours you’d like to give. However much time you can give, your contribution will help raise much needed funds to continue the work of Cats Protection. You will develop new skills, expand your knowledge and make a significant contribution to improving the lives of cats and kittens by helping raise funds through events. You will also meet new people, make new friends and be part of a dedicated group of volunteers.

Our online fundraisers help our volunteer groups raise vital funds by organising online sales of goods, using social media to encourage donations and any other innovative ways to raise funds they can think of!
