Current opportunities

Provan Hall Community Management Trust is a registered charity. We are custodians of the beautiful historic Provan Hall, a listed medieval building. The recent renovation of Provan Hall by Glasgow City Council has allowed us opportunity to breathe new life into one of Glasgow's oldest buildings—a community heritage site of national significance. We are committed to providing a community facility to support building knowledge, skills, and access to arts, heritage and recreation in Easterhouse and welcoming visitors from far and wide. Provan Hall Community Management Trust is looking for a Museum Reception and Retail volunteer to support our opening hours at Provan Hall, that has recently undergone a £2m restoration. The building will be open Thursday - Sunday to visitors, the public, schools and private groups. The volunteering role involves supporting staff with welcoming visitors, responding to enquiries, and keeping the space presentable. The Trust aims to support volunteers to gain new skills, knowledge, and experience, and meet new people. The role is flexible. The Trust provides training and covers reasonable volunteer travel expenses. Main Tasks: •Help set up the venue in preparation for visitors •Monitor the reception desk and greet visitors on arrival •Sell any relevant programmes or merchandise •Cash handling and recording transactions •In the event of an emergency support with evacuating the building in line with emergency evacuation procedures. •Keep track of visitor numbers •Distribute/collect feedback forms •Direct visitors around Provan Hall •Respond to enquiries •Highlight any issues to staff •Assist any visitors with additional support needs, ensuring evacuation needs are considered. •To be vigilant at all times regarding the safety and security of those at Provan Hall. •To clear and tidy venue at the end of the day.
