The Children's Clothing Bank Dunfermline accept donations of new and best quality pre-loved clothing for children (aged 0-18). They receive referrals from health visitors, social workers, support workers and other local organisations. They have a range of roles for volunteers and at any time, you can switch from one to another:
Sorters - you will sift through donations and quality check them before sorting into the appropriate age group.
Pickers – from their stock, you will pick the items requested in the referral, check them over for quality and then place into bags to pass on to our ironers/finishers.
Ironers/Finishers – you will receive a bag of clothes which have been selected for a particular child. You will give them a final check over before ironing, folding and packing them into 'gift bags'. This role is done in your own home and clothes need to be collected from our premises and returned during opening hours or by arrangement.
