We aim to build a specialised play centre , community café and respite flats for those with complex needs and multiple disabilities.
The Elsie Normington foundation aims to provide a specialist multi purpose facility In Inverness . The Haven Centre will provide a specially equipped play facility both indoors and outdoors for children and young people with complex learning difficulties and profound disabilities. Also on site will be a community café, garden and respite flats offering short term breaks to young people and their families from around the Highlands.
We are about to embark on the next phase of our exciting journey as we enter the build phase of the project and would love for you to join us!
We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers who would like to assist with our community fundraising.
From working on charity stalls and conveying our message to working at fundraising events, you’ll gain some invaluable experience.

We have a volunteer opportunity for a person of interest and relevant experience, in setting up what will become the community café run in The Haven Centre . An interested person would be able to assist our business Manager with Early preparation for recruiting volunteer team who will assist run this community café where supported employees with disabilities will find work.
Fundraising - This would be helping and Include Admin, thank you letters, advertising events, following up on dates and event arrangements. The Admin Volunteer would offer from one or two hours a week, to an afternoon or a day a week to help the Community Fundraiser.
The fun area of arranging fundraising events joining in on the practical areas of setting up of events. Bucket collections, supporting on a stand representing The Haven Centre. Collecting items for special Raffle. Fundraising volunteers will be required for weekend events and evenings on occasions. Volunteers could offer support at any level or length of time. We have some key events coming up that will require a variety of skills and talents.
Enjoying being part of a team and having fun while sharing talents you have, great or small, with a desire to create a wonderful Centre for children with special needs and young people in the Highlands are all we require. We will offer full support and share knowledge of the Charity before any tasks are undertaken.
We are currently moving forward as a charity as we are progressing to the Building of the Centre .
