Youth Zone is a youth led club for P3 - P7 with a variety of sports, crafts, gaming and cooking. It is an exciting way to socialise, find and meet friends, and have fun. We would like to have volunteer youth leader join our team to facilitate the youth club on Tuesdays and the school holidays programmes. Although volunteers are not required to have youth work background, we would like the youth leaders to be motivated and able to engage with the young people during activities, such as arts and crafts, indoor games, outdoor sports, etc.
At Youth Zone we encourage volunteers to come along and share their skills and knowledge. We welcome volunteers with any specialisation such as coding, dancing, yoga, cooking and baking, etc.
We always make sure that the ration between young people and youth leaders/coordinators is right and volunteers are not expected to control big groups single handedly. Any risk assessments are done by the youth leader, same as any responsibility to use any equipment/tools, etc.
- welcome and register young people to the session
- collaborate with youth leader and other volunteers during activities
- encourage and support participants during activities
- set up and clear spaces used for activities
- engage with youth leader coordinator to help in the organisation and planning of activities
