Description

On Ward volunteers transform the lives of older people by providing companionship to those who have no local family or friends to visit. If you enjoy meeting new people and have a genuine interest in brightening up the lives of older people in hospital then this is the role for you.
You will be based in a ward and work in conjunction with NHS staff. Your role could range from providing companionship to encouraging good nutrition and hydration at meal times. You can also accompany them to the hospital café or day ward (with the authorisation from NHS staff). This is both a rewarding and challenging experience.
Our volunteers are at the heart of all we do. As a Royal Voluntary Service volunteer you will be part of a historic charity that believes everyone should feel valued and involved, regardless of their age. Flexible times available during Monday to Friday morning or afternoon. All help makes a real difference and is greatly appreciated.
