Do you want to be part of an exciting new initiative at Dundee Women’s Aid which involves working with women within an organisation which aims to end domestic abuse? This is a brilliant time to get involved as we deliver a new scheme connecting women in the local community. This role will involve:

  • Being paired with a woman who has experienced domestic abuse
  • Meeting up with a woman/women on a regular basis (at least once a month – times to be decided by you and the woman) to provide the woman with a connection in the local community
  • Discuss with the woman and identify an area she’d like to work on e.g. going for coffee, joining a group, IT skills etc
  • Contributing to organising social activities with other volunteers and women using the service

We offer emotional and practical support and/or safe refuge to women, young people and children experiencing, or who have experienced, domestic abuse.










This is a flexible role and will involve you setting up meetings with the woman you are working with. It would be great if you could commit at least 8 hours a month as a minimum and a commitment of at least one year is preferred.

Experience required: No qualifications are required as we will provide a full induction and training. We are looking for women who are (or who are willing to develop skills in these areas): - Reflective - A good listener - Non judgemental - A willingness to learn - Empathetic and who enjoy working as part of a team - Have a commitment to the aims and values of Dundee Women’s Aid - Able to talk to and relate to people from all walks of life - Understanding of importance of confidentiality & boundaries.
