Description

Galahill House need a volunteer to befriend an elderly gentleman who has recently moved back to the area.

The gentleman has a keen interest in bowls and until his move to us was a member of his local club. He is a quiet intelligent man who is looking to get out more. He and his wife both live with us but sadly his wife is no longer able to communicate well, and he is looking for some company and local outings, he can easily get in and out a normal car.

The role will include accompanying the gentleman to the bowls on a Wednesday night. 7-9pm – he likes to watch and maybe have a pint. He likes to chat about politics and sport and enjoys a wander to the town and a cuppa with a cake. If the weather is poor a visit in the home would be appreciated. This gentleman has a good sense of humour.
