Description

Abundant Borders is the anchor organisation for good food in The Borders, with projects including community gardens, cooking courses, social food and coordinating the regional response to the Good Food Nation Act.

Abundant Borders is looking to add to it’s dedicated, skilled team of Trustees.

The Board of Trustees has a wide range of skills and experiences, and we are looking to recruit up to three additional trustees. Individuals with Finance Skills or expertise in Personnel would be particularly valuable. Interest in, and knowledge of food related issues (farming, food poverty, land use, public health etc) would be beneficial.

There are 6 Trustees meeting per annum (1-2 hour duration) plus AGM.

Organisation aims and objectives

To alleviate food insecurity in the Scottish Borders by creating a network of local food production sites and encouraging people to seek out locally produced food. To help ease the loneliness and isolation caused by the pandemic and to provide open spaces for communities to utilise and enjoy together. To create open spaces for leisure, recreation and connection. To help ease the isolation and to provide support for those needing eased gently back to normal life after the extraordinary and lasting impacts of covid.
