Description

The Retired and Senior Volunteer Programme (RSVP) encourages and supports people aged 50+ to volunteer in their local communities. Across Stirling, Falkirk and Clackmannanshire we run 5 projects involving hundreds of volunteers.

These include volunteering activities within local hospitals and primary schools, charitable knitting groups, a walking group for older people, and a community Handyperson Service.

We are looking for new Volunteer Leaders who can help ensure that our groups and activities run smoothly. For example, as a Schools Volunteer Leader you will help us to recruit new volunteers, and making sure that existing volunteers are supported and enjoying their volunteering experience. We currently have vacancies for school leaders in Stirling, Falkirk and in Clackmannanshire.

Instead, if you would prefer to become a Handyperson Leader, you will help to ensure that tasks needed by older people are "assigned" to an appropriate volunteer, and that all volunteers are supported. We currently have a vacancy for a Handyperson Leader in Stirling and Clackmannanshire.

Or perhaps you have a new idea for an activity or group, that older people could take part in? We'd love to help you set up a group and can provide all ongoing support!

The volunteering hours are fully flexible and we will be able to work around your availability. If you are passionate about volunteering and would like to help us support other volunteers, we would love to hear from you!

FRESH Volunteers

Fresh Community Wellness is a growing grassroots charity, registered Scottish Charity Number, SC051346. We operate out of Aberdeen city, working within a (S.I.M.D) high neighbourhood to create lasting change and build a legacy for the future. Predominantly in Seaton neighbourhoods and outdoors, we work with volunteers/residents, with a salutogenic approach to community wellness. To help with this we have great opportunities and need people to help out as volunteers for a range of roles including: *Food growing, gardeners, greenspace management, tidy ups volunteers. *Mentors, community engagement, events, entertainers (kids, adults, 55+). *Outdoors games & sports volunteers, building outdoor areas for residents (sheltered housing seating), health. *Artists/ Sculptors to begin on our Street Art & Design projects, and sculptures. *Admin, coordinators, team lead volunteers, advisors & support volunteers. *Drop-in café helpers, advisors, cooking assistants. All are fantastic opportunities to make a real difference for people and communities in Aberdeen. Excellent support and relevant training is provided to all volunteers. Committee Members

Volunteers we need you, with you inspiration and motivation to serve as a board member on the Management Board of HALLA (Harlaw Area Lifelong Learning Association). We are a Board of people who run daytime and evening classes at Kaimhill Learning Centre. We have a FB page ( @HALLACommunity) where you can see some of our activities and tutored classes. We meet once a month to discuss new opportunities and management issues, to find new ways of how-to bring people of all ages in the local community into the centre. We have several weekly, social, informal learning groups where Board members can get to know each other and form a friendly working relationship. A volunteer should be passionate, enthusiastic and have a keen interest in community matters. A volunteer does not necessarily require specific skills since we all support each other to develop new skills but if you have specific ones, it would be good to introduce them to the rest of the Board so we can use them to benefit the local community. The Board would appreciate people with knowledge of IT and office procedures but enthusiasm and interest in the community are equally important. This is an amazing opportunity to discover your “hidden talents” !!! You are very welcome to attend a committee meeting and see if this is for you. Kids Activities Volunteer

As Part Of The Angus Council Holiday Programme , We Are Looking For Additional Volunteers During The Angus School Holidays in 2024 Saturday 6th April & Sunday 7th April Friday 28 June to Monday 12 August 2024 Monday 7 October to Friday 18 October Friockheim Park Community Volunteers Are Offering Stay & Play Sessions At All These Sessions We Will Be Providing Hot/Cold Drinks, Refreshments & Fresh Fruit To Both Children & Adults. You Will Be Part Of A Team Of Volunteers Running Each Session Which Will Be Held On A Variety Of Days Throughout The Holidays, An Enhanced PVG Will Be Required For This Role.
