Description

An opportunity to help deliver Rosslyn Chapel’s award-winning learning and outreach programme. Volunteers will assist with variety of education workshops for visiting primary schools (Tuesday/Wednesday mornings), and with the Junior Tour Guides programme (Thursday mornings). Most workshops are at the Chapel in the mornings, but some workshops involve going out to schools for follow-up sessions in the afternoons. Volunteers will not be required to lead entire sessions on their own but will assist Rosslyn Chapel staff. They may lead smaller groups of pupils within workshops. The Junior Tour Guides programme involves chaperoning, assisting with learning lines and helping with costumes and props during rehearsals and performances. There will also be occasional as-and-when opportunities to help with scouts/girl guide visits in the evenings, and with summer living history activities on Wednesdays at the Chapel during the school summer holidays. Volunteers will be required to become members of the PVG scheme.

RCT provides a guide service for visitors, a retail outlet, and a cafe for light refreshments. The Chapel itself is used to host selected artistic concerts/events. As part of its wider role, RCT engages in educational and interpretational activities.
