We are seeking passionate and community-minded individuals to join our
council as Volunteer Community Councillors. In this role, you will be instrumental in voicing the
concerns and aspirations of local residents, helping to shape the future of our community
through proactive involvement in local governance and initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Attend and actively participate in regular council meetings.
• Represent the interests and concerns of local residents.
• Engage with community members to gather feedback and ideas.
• Collaborate with fellow councillors to develop and implement community projects.
• Liaise with local authorities and organisations to advocate for community needs.
• Contribute to sub-committees and working groups as required.
• Assist in organizing and promoting community events and activities.
• Stay informed about local issues, policies, and developments affecting the community

Organisation aims and objectives

: Irvine Community Council is a dedicated community organisation serving the local community, working to represent the views and concerns of residents to local authorities and other organisations. We facilitate local initiatives, support community projects, and serve as a bridge between residents and local authorities.

Restrictions

Experience required: Requirements: • Strong commitment to serving the community. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. • Enthusiasm for local issues and a proactive approach to problem-solving. • Willingness to attend meetings and participate in council activities. • No prior experience required; training and support will be provided. • Residency within the Irvine Community Council area is essential (please check www.irvinecommunitycouncil.org.uk for full boundary information)

Food Train is a registered charity, voluntary organisation and social enterprise. Since 1995 Food Train has been making daily life easier for older people, providing vital services to those who are no longer able to manage independently. Our aim is to support older people to live independently at home. Our preventative services address the difficulty older people face getting their weekly grocery shopping, doing jobs around the house and the growing isolation that comes with failing health. We also aim to provide a wide range of supported volunteering opportunities for people of all ages and abilities. Would you like to volunteer to help older people in your local community? We are looking for folk to volunteer to carry out and deliver a grocery shop for an older person on a regular basis.
