Description

Dunfermline and West Fife's very own Heritage Railway project, Lathalmond Railway Museum, is looking for volunteers within their newly refurbished museum. By becoming a Technical Volunteer, you will join an enthusiastic team preserving the railway heritage of Fife.
As a Technical Volunteer, you can take part in activities including:

  • Train maintenance
  • Building maintenance
  • Equipment restoration
  • DIY activities
  • And more
    Volunteers can choose which activities they would like to engage with and are welcome to bring any existing skills to help maintain, restore and promote the museum to allow local people to learn about Dunfermline and West Fife’s rich railway heritage.

Organisation aims and objectives

Dunfermline and West Fife's very own Heritage Railway project, Lathalmond Railway Museum is located to the north of Dunfermline, on a shared site with the Scottish Vintage Bus Museum. With 2 operational railway lines operating frequently.

Restrictions

Experience required: No previous experience is needed for this role. Volunteers will be enthusiastic and interested in learning about the history of the museum and ideally will have some technical skills which can be applied to the restoration and maintenance of the railway museum.
Travel details: The museum is at M90, Commerce Park, Lathalmond, Dunfermline. It has parking available.
Minimum age: 18
