We are excited to have various volunteering opportunities within Angus Independent Advocacy including a role to support our online presence.

Support Angus Independent Advocacy with their social media platforms ( Facebook, Twitter) by developing a clear marketing strategy and identify opportunities to improve. This would be linked to the creation of a team marketing pack which would be used to develop a marketing strategy in order to link them all together and for effective running of the AIA website and social media.

Organisation aims and objectives

To provide accessible independent advocacy within Angus for adults who have: a mental health problem, a learning disability, dementia, an acquired brain injury or who are frail and elderly.

Frequency and commitment details

Variable, 1-2 hours per fortnight. Long term commitment

Restrictions

Experience required: You will need to be tech savvy, have an understanding of confidentiality, trustworthy, content marketing, design thinking and planning, social media
Travel details: Office based in Arbroath
Minimum age: 18

Support

Expenses details: Any out of pocket expenses are reimbursed. This can be discussed further during the recruitment process.
Training details: Regular support and training, peer support

Would you like to support Dates-n-Mates, a friendship and dating agency for adults with learning disabilities, to raise awareness of our wonderful campaign and share stories on our social media platforms? We are seeking a volunteer to: · Assist the Communications Group with gathering and creating content for a variety of social media platforms · Assist with producing and editing videos for TikTok · Work alongside the Communications Lead to develop and deliver a social media plan · Assist with scheduling social media content · Think of and share innovative ways to drive online engagement and increase awareness of the campaign. · Identify current and relevant social media trends and updates. Support Session Volunteer

Could you support unpaid carers or people with disabilities to access benefits? Could you help someone find local services? Could you help someone understand the information they have been given about their care and support? Could you support or lead a group of people on a topic of interest? You could help improve the quality of someone’s life. This role is ideal for social work students, an interest in the care sector or retired professionals. Support Session Volunteers help our clients with general advocacy, supporting people with a variety of challenges. This helps us to reduce waitlists and support more individuals by: • Helping clients understand about advocacy • Supporting clients to self-advocate with our tool kits • Signposting clients to other services where required • Supporting the service to deliver “collective” advocacy sessions • Light Touch Advocacy • Supporting advocates with casework • Promotion of services and the organisation • Logging activity onto our systems Volunteer, Ben’s priorities changed after a serious illness. “I wanted to give something back.
