Description

For over 60 years Muscular Dystrophy UK have provided life-changing support for people living with muscle wasting and weakening conditions, funded groundbreaking research and campaigned for people’s rights, access to treatments and better understanding of why muscles matter.
In this role of Community Gardens Ambassador, you'll play a key part in helping to find gardens to open in your local area. You will identify and encourage local people to open their garden to the community, sharing their passion for plants and at the same time, raising money to fund groundbreaking research and life changing support.
You will provide ongoing, support and guidance to those willing to open their garden as a means of fundraising for MDUK.

Experience required: MDUK are keen to hear from potential volunteers who have experience of community building, event planning and promotion and marketing.

Expenses details: All expenses are to be agreed beforehand with your RDM. 45p per mile is offered for those driving
Training details: -A volunteer induction to provide you with the knowledge needed to help you succeed. -Your local Regional Development Manager will inform you of any relevant training, development opportunities, events or meetings you may need to attend. -Regular email updates on the charity’s work. -Contact with other volunteers working with MDUK. -Your main contact will share the Volunteers’ handbook with you, which will act as a summary of the information within the Volunteer Policy. Your main contact will also work with you to provide any support and training you need to fulfil your role.
