This is a unique opportunity to either learn or apply skills related to customer requests for printing a wide range of materials. This work often includes using the guillotine, laminator and book-binding. We also sell arts and craft materials and a wide range of stationery supplies. Our greetings cards include those created by local artists. You will be interested in the heritage of paper-making in Penicuik and enjoy working as part of a team. Retail experience would be a bonus but is not required. Volunteers are also encouraged to work cooperatively with the team as we go through a time of change and development. The role requires a minimum of one shift of three hours a week along with attendance at monthly team meetings.

Steam Locomotive Onboard Volunteers

We have a number of roles including - Chef for the Locomotive Crew - Retail sales selling the charity merchandise - Carriage Hosts to look after our passengers, taking special care of those who may be less mobile. Rail Tours start from Edinburgh go across the Forth Road Bridge and up to Aberdeen and return, Glasgow to Aberdeen. Other routes to be confirmed very soon.

Visitor Services Assistant

We are one of Dundee’s premier visitor attractions (3 Star Visit Scotland award) with visitor numbers increasing year on year. We have a Trip Advisor rating of 2nd out of 120 things to do in Dundee that we are proud of and want to maintain. The Museum is looking for motivated individuals to join our visitor services team for the coming season. The role offers the individual a chance to gain retail experience in visitor friendly environment. As part of the visitor services team you will assist with meeting and greeting our visitors, working on reception, helping out in the café or acting as a guide to ensure a first class experience. No experience is necessary and training will be given.
