Description

On a weekly basis, you will assist the Project Lead and Group Workers to deliver various activities for the children. As a volunteer, you will engage with children aged 4 and 12 years old with a particular focus and attention on those in the early years stage. Activities included are arts & crafts, outdoor activities, games & outings.

Organisation aims and objectives

Big Hearts Community Trust is an independent charity working in partnership with Heart of Midlothian Football Club to deliver community based activities. The trust has three full time, and one part time staff member. Our main project areas are: 1. Kinship Care – comprehensive support package for families in Edinburgh, including training sessions for carers and an after school club. 2. Big Hearts Supporters – a unique fan engagement project, designed to encourage fans of the club to become volunteers. 3. Football Memories – a support group for those with a dementia diagnosis, using reminiscence tools at Tynecastle. 4. Big Hearts Befrienders – a befriending project for Hearts fans to support kinship care young people through 1-1 engagement.

Expenses details: We have an expenses for that the volunteer will fill out and we will pay this back to them as soon as possible.

Training details: There will be an induction for the volunteer on the day they start, we will then discuss what training is required or that the volunteer would like to do.
