Description

Based at The Hospital for Children and Young People, we are looking for an enthusiastic, creative and social media savvy support volunteer, who can dedicate a couple of hours a week to creating new content for for our channels with the emphasis of capturing video for Instagram reels.

Organisation aims and objectives

We support and complement the work of Edinburgh's Royal Hospital for Sick Children (The Sick Kids) as well as other children’s healthcare settings across Scotland.

2 hours per week - Flexible most activity Monday to Friday 10am until 4 pm some evening and weekends is required.

Restrictions

Travel details: Within the ECHC Hub and on the RHCYP wards. The Royal Hospital for Children and Young People, 50 Little France Crescent Edinburgh. Limited parking however extensive bus services available in and around Edinburgh, East and West Lothian.

Expenses paid: Yes
Expenses details: A drivers declaration form will need to be completed and all copies of driver and car documentation to be emailed to volunteering@echcharity.org this will then be reviewed and sent to Finance to record, Volunteer to then fill out an expense form after each shift and role manager to check review and sign This to be emailed to Volunteering Assistant who will check over before forwarding to finance for payment.
Training details: Induction training on initial first shift then ongoing training on content writing on social media and website if interested.
Support: Wheelchair Access/Disabled Access Toilet

Since 1995 Food Train has been making daily life easier for older people, providing vital services to those who are no longer able to manage independently. Our aim is to support older people to live independently at home. Our preventative services address the difficulty older people face getting their weekly grocery shopping, doing jobs around the house and the growing isolation that comes with failing health. We also aim to provide a wide range of supported volunteering opportunities for people of all ages and abilities. Would you like to volunteer to help older people in your local community? We are looking for folk to volunteer to carry out and deliver a grocery shop for an older person on a regular basis.
