Scottish Communities Climate Action Network (SCCAN)’s purpose is to inspire and promote, connect and support community-led action in Scotland to address the Climate Emergency. You would be helping once a week with the following: -Events organizing and facilitating -Taking part in regular events working group meetings -Contacting potential speakers and facilitators -Promoting events by writing blog posts and promoting on social media. -Compile a report on the event. As a volunteer led organisation, our capacity to offer thorough training on events coordination is limited so we would expect you to have some experience or to be adaptable. There will be some initial training on the way SCCAN operates. The start date is flexible to suit your availability. Our events and meetings are currently done online through zoom. An exciting opportunity to join the Under the Trees team, working in the great and beautiful outdoors whilst gaining valuable experience working with young children and young adults. You will potentially be working in all weathers and in all seasons - we can provide waterproofs! Under the Trees runs fun and educational sessions for school children in the Falkirk and Stirling areas, as well as a programme of public events for all ages, backgrounds and abilities. Events run all year round. As a Volunteer Education Assistant, there will be opportunities for you to do a range of the following: - Assist with Educational Sessions for school groups, including term-time forest schools. - Assist with sessions for the general public, including a monthly nature club for ages 0-13. - Assist with holiday play sessions and family events. - Plan and lead in activities. - Maintain resources effectively. - Keep session areas safe and tidy. - Desk-based activities in planning, creating materials and administration.

Biosphere Bikes Community Bike Hub (BB) is a registered charity and non-profit social enterprise located in Girvan which is utilising local assets for the benefit of people, place and planet. BB is not just about cycling and bikes, it is a Community Bike Hub that uses cycling as a tool to have a positive social impact benefitting Girvan and the wider South Ayrshire area. We repurpose bikes, saving them from landfill and provide accessible cycles for all at affordable prices. Biosphere Bikes Shop & Community Hub is seeking dedicated and skilled Bike Maintenance Volunteers to join our team. As a Bike Maintenance Volunteer in our small charity, you will play a crucial role in repairing, maintaining, and refurbishing bicycles that are donated to our organization. We have a strong work ethic and promote accessible cycling and wheeling for all to encourage sustainable transportation and healthy lifestyles. Your expertise will directly support our mission to make cycling accessible and enjoyable for everyone. If you have a few hours per week and would like to share your bike knowledge and skills for the benefit of others we would love to hear from you! We welcome adults and young people into our charity who may have physical or learning disabilities so an ability to collaborate inclusively to support their unique abilities and contributions would be welcome.

The St Magnus Way are looking for volunteer Path Keepers to walk sections of the St Magnus Way to check the condition of the path and report any problems to the Volunteer Coordinator. Key activities include: • Checking the general condition of the path in a particular section of the Way. • Checking way marker poles and way markers (missing or fallen). • Checking in grassy areas if strimming is required. • Reporting major littering. • Taking home minor litter. • Informing the Coordinator when a section has been checked. What could a volunteer gain from the experience? • Providing a service to the local community and visitors. • Being part of a St Magnus Way community of walkers. • Exercise and fresh air.
