Are you interested in supporting those within our community and the provision of affordable housing?

Our Committee are responsible for determining strategy, developing policies and for the overall management of the Association but are not involved in day to day operations. Management Committee meetings are held bi-monthly, usually at 10.30am on the last Wednesday of the month. In addition, members can take part in the work of sub-committees which are held quarterly, between Management Committee meetings.

Organisation aims and objectives

Established in 1985, Orkney Housing Association (OHAL) is the only housing association operating within Orkney. It is a charitable not-for-profit organisation with a membership open to anyone interested in supporting its aims.

Restrictions

Members must be 18 years and over.
Experience required: 1. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. 2. Sound understanding of governance and strategic planning. 3. Genuine interest and understanding of housing related issues in Orkney. 4. Ability to prepare for and contribute effectively at meetings. 5. Understanding and awarenes of equality and diversity issues. 6. An awareness of and commitment to good employer practice.
