Our mission is to deliver urgent medical samples, equipment and supplies free of charge between hospitals, healthcare sites and laboratories in the North East of Scotland when Healthcare Providers’ own transport services do not operate. How can you help? We are recruiting a team of Charity Ambassadors to help develop engagement across each Region, to maximise opportunities to raise funds and increase support from the Community. You will be actively involved with The Charity on the ground and play a key role working alongside the Regional Community Fundraisers, as and when required:  Identifying various opportunities in your local area to raise awareness of The Charity & our wide range of Fundraising Campaigns. This could anything from contacting your local supermarket’s ‘Community Champion’ and organising an information stand and bucket collection or supporting a Supporter Group meet up in your area.  Representing The Charity in your area, by undertaking presentations & cheque collections at schools, local companies & community groups  Helping us to recruit new fundraisers and supporting those who are already signed up for a campaign, in your area. For example, attending a local Twilight Walk or promoting The Big Bake to local companies. What impact will you have? By amplifying The Charity's voice in your local area, you'll help increase the impact of fundraising campaigns & help grow funds and support us in accelerating a cure for everyone affected by a brain tumour diagnosis. We are looking for volunteers in Perth, St Andrews, Leven or Kirkcaldy. This role gives you the chance to be a real ambassador for CHAS; you’ll be raising awareness of CHAS in local communities and encouraging your audiences to get involved in supporting us, by donating money or time. CHAS speakers identify opportunities to engage new audiences in the work of CHAS by arranging and delivering talks to schools, local businesses, rotary clubs or similar groups. Your local Community Fundraiser may also ask you to fulfil speaking engagements. This role gives you the chance to be a real ambassador for CHAS; you’ll be raising awareness of CHAS in local communities and encouraging your audiences to get involved in supporting us, by donating money or time. What activities will I be involved in? - Identifying opportunities to speak to new groups through local research and your existing knowledge - Making approaches and arranging talks - Creating and delivering short talks about CHAS, as appropriate for each audience What ongoing learning/support/guidance will I receive?  It’s important to us that you feel happy, safe and confident in your role. You will be invited to complete a short core learning package that is tailored to your volunteer role. You will also be given training that is specific to your speaker role and the content of your talks, focusing on key messages about our services.  Your local Community Fundraiser will be your Volunteer Manager and will provide ongoing support and guidance to you in your role. We have also partnered with the Skills Network to offer all our volunteers the chance to develop new skills and explore further learning opportunities. We are a small, friendly local charity helping people living with cancer in Bonnybridge and Denny by providing free transport to hospital and free therapies in their own home. As a fundraiser you can help to plan or run events which raise money to support what we do and also provide valuable publicity of the services we offer. It's a great chance to make a real difference to local people in your community. We have regular meetings and social events where you can meet other volunteers. We are looking for fundraisers who would be part of a friendly team who meet at each others houses and organise about 3 events per year. Past events have included race nights, quiz nights and a coffee morning. Fundraisers would help plan the events and/or be there to help on the day. Anyone is welcome to join us and give us whatever time they have. It is good fun and very rewarding. Your new ideas, energy and enthusiasm can make a real difference to cancer sufferers. Volunteering need not interfere with your other commitments, will not leave you out of pocket and will not affect any benefits you receive.
