Did you know that if you volunteer to help out at the refreshment/sweet shop at any of the many varied events held at Duns Volunteer Hall you get to stay for the event, for free?

We are looking for a team of people who would like to help sell sweets and drinks at our community cinema nights and other events in the hall. You choose which event you would like to help out at from the many varied events held throughout the year.

No experience necessary as you will be given full training and partnered with an experienced volunteer.

Role Description :
• Ensure tables are set out in the hall.
• Obtain cash float and check.
• Get stock sweets from store and display on table.
• Coffee machines to be filled with water and coffee grounds and flask of hot water for tea,
milk etc.
• Familiarise yourself with prices in case of changes.
• Serve customers with a smile.
• Clear away surplus stock at the end of sales.
• Note any stock shortages and leave a note or report to Events Manager.
• Enjoy the show.

Restrictions

Experience required: No experience necessary. You will be given full in-house training and will be partnered with an experienced volunteer.
Travel details: Volunteer Hall, Duns, Scottish Borders
Minimum age: 16

Training details: We can work around you. You can come to be shown around and see what you think. You can come for a hour and have a go. You can come for a full shift and see what you think. You will be partnered with an experienced volunteer for as long as you need.

The Kincorth Community Centre Hub has great volunteer opportunities to assist with a range of activities at the Hub. Volunteer roles include supporting our busy community cafe, which has rapidly taken off, we currently open 9.30 -2.30, but our aim is to run a breakfast and supper club, as well as have the cafe open for activities in the evening. Your Love Rara Volunteers

We are a not for profit community interest organisation supporting young people and children's mental health and wellbeing. Our Volunteer roles vary from organising and hosting workshops and assisting with community fundraising projects, face painting, entertainment and supporting local charities and events. We are seeking volunteers to support our community hub learning skills such as customer service, stock taking, cashier skills, hosting and organising. Theatre Volunteer

These are weekly evening drama classes for children and young people aged 8-16. Pupils will learn all about theatre and performing, with the opportunity to devise and stage a performance for the end of term. Volunteers will be required to help with running the classes. Activities could include setting up the space, running drama games and directing. Participants are invited to assist with lesson plans if interested. This experience will be particularly valuable for anyone studying drama or training towards childcare qualifications.
