Poster/Leaflet Drop Volunteers

“Do you walk through Duns on a regular basis?”
“Could you drop off some leaflets/posters on your way?”

We are looking for a team of people to pick up posters from the Duns Volunteer Hall and drop them off at the shops around the town and in the industrial estate.

Can you help?

No experience necessary as you will be given full training and partnered with an experienced volunteer.

Get in touch to find out more. Not only will you learn a new skill (or rekindle an old one) you will also make new friends and have fun.

Role Description :
• Collect posters from the Duns Volunteer Hall.
• Put on the notice board in the square and other visible spots around town.
• Distribute to businesses and shops in the town.
• Distribute to businesses in the Industrial estate.
• Take posters down once event is over.

Restrictions

Experience required: No experience necessary. You will be given full in-house training and will be partnered with an experienced volunteer.
Travel details: Volunteer Hall, and around Duns, Scottish Borders
Minimum age: 16

Taster available: Yes
Training details: We can work around you. You can come to be shown around and see what you think. You can come for a hour and have a go. You can come for a full shift and see what you think. You will be partnered with an experienced volunteer for as long as you need.

Did you know that if you volunteer to help out at the refreshment/sweet shop at any of the many varied events held at Duns Volunteer Hall you get to stay for the event, for free? We are looking for a team of people who would like to help sell sweets and drinks at our community cinema nights and other events in the hall. You choose which event you would like to help out at from the many varied events held throughout the year. No experience necessary as you will be given full training and partnered with an experienced volunteer. Get in touch to find out more. Role Description : • Ensure tables are set out in the hall. • Obtain cash float and check. • Get stock sweets from store and display on table. • Coffee machines to be filled with water and coffee grounds and flask of hot water for tea, milk etc. • Familiarise yourself with prices in case of changes. • Serve customers with a smile. • Clear away surplus stock at the end of sales. • Note any stock shortages and leave a note or report to Events Manager. • Enjoy the show.

Kincorth Community Centre Hub Volunteers

The Kincorth Community Centre Hub has great volunteer opportunities to assist with a range of activities at the Hub. Volunteer roles include supporting our busy community cafe, which has rapidly taken off, we currently open 9.30 -2.30, but our aim is to run a breakfast and supper club, as well as have the cafe open for activities in the evening. We have a diverse community that has a lot to offer e.g.: art classes/exercise group/dance class/music lessons and we are always open to new ideas-we are more or less a blank canvass. Excellent support and relevant guidance is provided to all volunteers. Level 2 Hygiene Certificate will be offered to those who want to volunteer/cook in the café. Any other training would be reviewed and provided if proved relevant. A fantastic, enjoyable opportunity to volunteer and help make a real difference for people and the community. Your Love Rara Volunteers

We are a not for profit community interest organisation supporting young people and children's mental health and wellbeing. Our Volunteer roles vary from organising and hosting workshops and assisting with community fundraising projects, face painting, entertainment and supporting local charities and events.
