By providing company and companionship, volunteers will be enhancing the patient experience and helping reduce any feelings of isolation and loneliness.
Activities include:
Chatting and listening to patients
Reading to patients
Playing board games
Reminiscence activities using discussion, books and other resources
The hospital provides a range of services to meet the health needs of the general population. We are constantly seeking ways to improve parient care and acurrent initiative is to ensure that people with cognitive difficulties (including people with dementia) are given access to appropriate support during a hospital admission.

1-2 hours per week but we can be very flexible. We also offer study leave for our volunteers who are school or university pupils.
Experience required: - Helpful, friendly and caring
- Ability to use own initiative
- Confidence in a hospital setting
