MISS is offering a rewarding and exciting opportunity for a volunteer Fundraising & Events Coordinator to play a key role within the MISS charity as we continue to grow and evolve. You will be responsible for developing existing supporter relationships and proactively identifying and securing new community and corporate fundraising opportunities to support the charity’s growth. As our Fundraising & Events Coordinator, we will support and co-ordinate projects across Scotland, develop fundraising processes and provide administrative support to the Fundraising & Events Lead. This role will provide practical administrative support both to the Fundraising & Events Lead and across internal fundraising systems and processes. There is considerable scope for progression and considerable professional development for the right candidate. Key tasks: · To research and devise an innovative fundraising strategy and to spot fundraising opportunities and raise awareness of Miscarriage Services. · To initiate, build and manage relationships with donors or companies to maximise and sustain income. · To build, manage and develop relationships with community supporters to maximise and sustain income. · To research, approach, and source new support from community groups (including schools, clubs, businesses, groups, and individuals) to secure funding. · To develop and deliver compelling fundraising activities and campaigns for supporters to participate in to maximise income. · To analyse the performance of events and other fundraising activities for effectiveness and to identify areas for improvement. · To oversee that all relevant fundraising information is recorded and documented in the charity’s electronic supporter records system in compliance with current, relevant legislation. · To work with the Secretary/Treasurer to complete and maintain orderly records of donors and manage regular donor communications. · To undertake all activities in compliance with the Fundraising Regulator and Institute of Fundraising rules and regulations and to ensure that all records are maintained in compliance with relevant legislation. · To assist with the charity’s social media presence. Muscular Dystrophy UK (MDUK) is the only charity the UK to provide support to the more than 60 types of muscle-wasting conditions. Are you passionate Gardening or have horticultural knowledge? In this role of Community Gardens Ambassador, you'll play a key part in helping to find gardens to open in your local area. You will be a key ambassador for the charity and a link to the gardens. Key Responsibilities: Community Building: • Inspire individuals to open their gardens to the public, creating a unique opportunity for community engagement. • create connections among community gardens, encouraging the exchange of ideas and collaboration. Event planning and coordination: • help to organise and coordinate Community Garden events that showcase the gardens in your area. • Provide support for garden hosts (you will be provided with resources and support for this), ensuring their success in attracting visitors and generating income. Promotion and marketing: • Use your local knowledge to promote Open Garden opportunities and events, and explain why this is important for Muscular Dystrophy UK • Support the open gardens in their fundraising endeavours.

We are looking to build Fundraising Groups across the UK, these groups will consist of 3-8 people who will help us extend our reach by fundraising, attending talks and presentations, creating local networks, building awareness of the charity and understanding how we can help people living with a muscle wasting condition all within their community. The role of the FG Co-ordinator is to work with the Regional Development team to help us get this project off the ground, you will often have catch ups with the team on a one-to-one basis and support with admin tasks to help us gather and collate information needed to ask people to join a group. Along with other staff and volunteers you'll be a core part of the local MDUK community, meeting new people and making a difference to those living with a muscle wasting condition.
