Description

We are on a mission to shine a spotlight on cohousing. Cohousing Scotland is a charity supporting innovative, community-led housing solutions - housing that is run by the residents themselves. The idea is nothing new in Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands. We want to see it flourish and grow across Scotland. Sharing a life with others saves money, prevents loneliness and it's more sustainable. If the idea appeals to you, we are looking for social media volunteers.

Organisation aims and objectives

We're a charity supporting innovative housing solutions. We believe in cooperative housing that is run by the residents themselves. The charity acts as a support forum for cohousing groups, fostering best practice, promoting opportunities and providing guidance to stakeholders.

Frequency and commitment details

Frequency and time commitment are negotiable to fit your time and circumstances.

Restrictions

Experience required: We are looking for creatives who would enjoy being involved in spreading the news about cohousing to support its growth across Scotland. We would welcome those with experience of Canva or other design programmes.
Minimum age: 18

Support

Training details: An introduction to the charity will be given and support will be available from trustees and from the Comms team of volunteers who meet regularly.

Social Media Volunteer

Share your passion and knowledge of social media to promote the activities of our charity - the South Ayrshire Community Transport. What can you expect to be doing? You will be: - promoting the work of SACT through various social media channels, for example, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter - gathering information locally about activities happening and any other updates - writing and creating social media content, ensuring it complies with policies and guidelines - scheduling and posting social media content - monitoring activity and responding to comments on social media channels You will develop new skills, expand your knowledge, and make a significant contribution to improving alternative transport initiatives through social media. You will also meet new people, make new friends and be part of a dedicated team of staff and volunteers. We’re looking for someone with: - A passion for social media and experience of using social media channels regularly - Knowledge of the advantages and disadvantages of using social media - Good IT skills - Good communication skills - Willingness to be part of a team This role is flexible and can be shared by more than one volunteer if needed.
