Description

Management Committee Member

Save By The Bell (SBTB) is a school-based project which aims to provide financial education to pupils and to complement financial inclusion initiatives within the city of Dundee. We aim to encourage children and young people to develop a regular savings habit which can be sustained during their adult life.
We are currently looking for volunteers to serve on our Management Committee which oversees the business operations of SBTB - setting priorities in the use of staff and other resources. The management committee meets quarterly to review the latest financial results and address any queries or issues that have been raised.

We are looking for individuals with an interest in the aims of Save By The Bell, which are to give young people in Dundee the opportunity to learn about saving and help them gain an understanding of how money works. Financial education is a top priority for Save By The Bell and it is the role of the management committee to help the charity achieve this objective.
Expectations are that there will be at least five meetings per year, made up of four quarterly review meetings and an AGM held in May/June.
All applicants will be considered as we believe a management committee with a diverse mix of skills and experience will best serve the charity.

What Can Be Gained:
Organisation & planning experience
Communication & interpersonal skills
Relationship building
Exposure to experiences you might not be able to get in your current place of employment - e.g. management experience as part of a committee
Opportunity to discover a new strength or passion - this is an excellent way to gain experience in a role without having to commit to a full-time position
Opportunity to make a difference and feel good about yourself
Discover the real value of using your unique experiences to support a charity
