Mackintosh at the Willow is a renowned historical site and tearoom designed by the famous architect Charles Rennie Mackintosh. The visitor attraction offers a unique blend of history, culture, and food and beverage offerings attracting visitors from all over the world. We are dedicated to preserving the legacy of Mackintosh while providing an exceptional experience for our guests. As a Retail & Admissions Volunteer, you will play a vital role in ensuring our visitors have a memorable and enjoyable experience. You will assist with various tasks in our retail shop and admissions area, providing excellent customer service and supporting the day-to-day operations. What you’ll be doing: •Based in the retail store you’ll welcome guests with a friendly manor, providing them with information about Mackintosh at the Willow and answering any questions they may have. •Assisting with ticket sales, check-in processes, and provide visitors with essential information about tours, exhibition, creative learning visits & activities happening throughout the venue. •Support the retail team by dusting and restocking shelves and offering guidance to visitors by answering their questions. •Customer Service: Assist visitors, ensuring they have a positive and enriching experience. Handle inquiries and resolve any issues efficiently and courteously by communicating with the retail team & management. •Exhibition: ensuring that the exhibition is kept tidy and reporting any issues to management. Keeping the costumes and areas in good order and answering any questions visitors may have about specific parts of the exhibition and building. •Helping tour guides in the greeting of tour groups and assisting when it’s busy to help guide them to their meeting points. When appropriate assisting with larger tour groups by answering questions about the building and Mackintosh. •Event Support: Assist during special events, workshops, and exhibitions, contributing to the overall success of these activities. How much time you’ll be giving: -Flexible timings: seasonal support required minimum 4 hours per week. -We’re open between 9am and 6pm from May-September end. As a National Trust for Scotland volunteer, you will be helping to care for and provide access to amazing places. You may learn new things, develop new skills, make new friends. You will certainly become a valued part of the NTS team. As a community interest company we value volunteers and their support really means a lot to us. We are looking for Delivery Drivers to assist us with delivery to our wholesale clients. You must have a full clean driving licence and be aged over 30. In exchange for your time and energy volunteering with us, we can offer the opportunity to improve employability skills and give you driving experience. We offer references after you have volunteered with us for several months.

The Kincorth Community Centre Hub has great volunteer opportunities to assist with a range of activities at the Hub. Volunteer roles include supporting our busy community cafe, which has rapidly taken off, we currently open 9.30 -2.30, but our aim is to run a breakfast and supper club, as well as have the cafe open for activities in the evening. We have a diverse community that has a lot to offer e.g.: art classes/exercise group/dance class/music lessons and we are always open to new ideas-we are more or less a blank canvass. Excellent support and relevant guidance is provided to all volunteers. Level 2 Hygiene Certificate will be offered to those who want to volunteer/cook in the café. Any other training would be reviewed and provided if proved relevant. A fantastic, enjoyable opportunity to volunteer and help make a real difference for people and the community. Inchgarth is delighted to announce a partnership with ABZWorks where we are offering you a wide range of excellent volunteering opportunities that will give you the confidence to learn new skills, make new friends, and a snapshot of different careers that may excite you as you consider your next steps. There’s only a small level of commitment, to suit your availability. Each volunteer will sign up ABZWorks to gain a whole range of practical positive support on CV making, possible training if you require it, and information about various employment opportunities in the city.bThere are no obligations, no costs, no impact on your benefits, only positives where you have new doors opening for you, and our centre gains your fantastic help. -CRITERIA It’s very straightforward, and again, the level of commitment is wholly your decision, but to gain the new skills and confidence, we do suggest no less than 6 weeks. • You can’t be in employment. • You can’t be in training. • You can’t be in education. • You have to live in Aberdeen city. • You must be aged 16-67 years of age. • Have the right to work and live in the UK. -SOME VOLUNTEERING ROLES…BUT THERE’S PLENTY MORE! - Would you like to learn from our wonderful chef Garry, who's looking to teach someone how to become a chef. He'll give you a good grasp of the basics. For 16-25 years of age this opportunity. - Volunteer in our café doing basic tasks like serving, stocking up, dishes, wiping tables, and learning how to use the coffee machine. - Help at our youth club, gaining tremendous experience working with primary-aged children. Friday 3.30-5.30pm - Support our lovely gaming club for primary-aged children, playing games, supervising and gaining important experience working with young people. Monday 4.30pm-6.30pm. - Volunteer at our Phoenix Club for adults with additional support needs, a really wonderful club where you will gain excellent experience in the social care sector. Mon 7-9pm. Thurs 1-3pm. - Take part in our amazing pensioners club on a Monday 12.45pm-3.15pm, where you’ll get a great understanding of working with 45 elderly people. It’s great fun! -Help us as a cleaner, keeping our building nice and tidy. You’ll meet loads of people of all ages, and it’s quite sociable too! Any day and time. - You might have IT skills that you want to put to good use but have not used those skills for some time. We have office work, and even teaching opportunities to pass on your skills. - Perhaps you have skills in advertising and haven’t had the chance to put them to good use for some time. We have lots of small DIY jobs across the centre, your help would be amazing. - Do you have music skills? Perhaps you’d like to get back into teaching, if so, this is the role for you. - Maybe you’d like to gain some basic skills in maintaining our fitness gym, and keeping it tidy? - We are looking for a general centre assistant to help set up rooms, tidy away, clean equipment, and keep our stores in good order. - Would you like to run a group and have a skill you’d like to pass onto others, such as knitting, sewing, art. - We are looking for people to assist our new men’s social group, playing pool, cards, dominoes. - We have a wonderful charity called Future Choices on a Tuesday, working with adults with physical disabilities and health problems. They’d love your support. Tuesday 11am-1.30pm. - Minibus driver for our pensioners club. You may have a completely different idea of how you’d like to get involved, and we’d love to gain your ideas. -SUPPORT FROM ABZWorks. There’s lots of support from the good folks at ABZWorks, where they have keyworkers who’ll help you along your journey, no matter what stage you are at. There are no obligations on your behalf, other than just signing up with them to hear what they can do for you.
